General Information
Thank you for your interest in my wedding photography. I have had a passion for photography for as long as I can remember, and remain a student of the art. I also have a love of people and enjoy meeting new faces and working with new acquaintances. Although wedding photography is not my full-time job, it is a major part of my life. In the pursuit and practice of this, I have attended college courses, conventions, and seminars. I have become close with people who share the same passion and have many photography related friends; amateur and professional shooters, lab owners, gallery owners, teachers, and fine art collectors. One of those friends suggested to me back in 2001 that he thought I should combine my interests in people and photography, and consider shooting weddings. He said he thought I had the right personality to do this, and subsequently booked me at my first "gig". Combined with the nervousness was an excitement and fun that made feel feel alive. When people saw the pictures, liked them, and ordered them, it put a smile on my face and I couldn't wait to do it again.
Since I began shooting weddings, I have photographed on average approximately 4-8 weddings per year. I have never advertised, and all my bookings have been by word of mouth and referral only. I find that this way of doing business suits my career, keeps me interested, and still feeds my soul. Sometimes something you love can start to feel like a chore when you do it too much. Make no mistake, wedding photography is hard work, but still feels like fun to me more often than not.
I also believe in marriage, and have been happily married since 1984. My wife and I were young by today's standards when we were married, and so I have some personal experience in the limited financial and lifestyle options of a new young couple. This understanding, and the fact that I do not depend solely on wedding photography for a living, allows me to keep my pricing low and accommodate the modest budgets of a new couple.
If any of these words makes you think that I might be a good match for your wedding, then please give me a call or send me an e-mail. We can get together and I can show you some of my work, or we can just meet and talk over what you are looking for and see if we all think it would be a good fit.
Thanks for reading, and best wishes to you.
